Lower Class People

Lower Class People

evaluation

Our first priority as a group was to brainstorm different ideas as to what our short film would be on and how we were going to structure it, we looked into other short films and tried to make ours as short and interesting as we possibly could. We decided as a group to base it on a hospitalised thriller theme. We started off with six people in our group however one left so we ended up splitting the roles between five people. We also felt like we played an equal role in the group and where needed we helped each other out to make sure each of the tasks was completed on time. I think overall our planning went well and we was all familiar with what the task was, however we all agreed that if we were to do the task again we would allocate the specific roles to people who were more aware of the different roles and the skills you needed to complete them roles.
The paperwork which had to be completed was one of the first things we ensured were completed. We found the paperwork very useful as we could refer back to this whenever we needed and it was also very helpful in recording notes and also expanding on our original ideas. All of the paperwork was uploaded onto the group blog; this was so we could all easily access it and refer back to it whenever we needed. However as a group we felt the production call sheet was most useful as it made us aware of our time limits and this was the document which we referred to most out of all the paperwork we completed. If we had to change a piece of paperwork however we would have developed the treatment document more as we felt it was a bit rushed and didn’t contain as much information as what it should have.
Throughout the production of our film we all contributed significant ideas, during the filming of the product I helped set up the scene. These included suggesting adding props to make it look more realistic, props we included were paper to make it look like a notebook and we also included flowers, this was to give the overall film more of an atmosphere and make it look life like. The final ide about what our film will be based on was Adan’s idea; he suggested basing the storyline in a hospital which involved him giving bad news to a patient’s father. Once Adan and malique were able to get into the right mind frame they were able to add emotion to their performance which I felt made it more effective and also made it easier to understand. I felt it also allowed the audience to interact with the story and get involved in the emotions.
In our group Tom and Gabby were in charge of the cameras, this meant that they had to be aware of where to position the camera and which shots they need to inclulde in the filming. I thought that they both done a very good job in ensuring they caught each of the needed shots which included the three shots which we had to have in our film. Once the filming was completed we then had to edit what we had recorded. Me and Gabby both worked together in order to cut parts of the recording and make sure the film run smoothly and we had to make sure there was no jump cuts in the film. We found that with the footage we had made this wasnt a problem as we had filmed everything a couple of times. We was all pleased with our finished product and how well we worked together to produce it.
